The construction of a Dome.

Once, you have determined the design of your dome building we begin the construction process, at the site we pour a concrete slab and ring beam foundation. this beam takes a portion of the compression of the dome structure.  The next step is Inflating the air form this is the mold we will build the shell inside.  Then, we spray the polyurethane insulation this is your primary insulation and is sprayed on the inside of the air form.  Then, we 'hang' steel rebar, vertically and horizontally, this takes on the appearance of a birdcage and is the expansion strength of the dome.  The next and last step of the shell is the concrete which we spray on inside the air form, using pressurized hoses, by spraying the concrete on it has magnitudes more strength than any poured concrete.

After all that is done you are ready to finish up the insides and soon move in.

Who We Are.

DSC Technologies is a family owned and operated business.  DSC Technologies was started by Darrell Henderson who has long had an interest in domes.  This interest started years ago with geodesic domes however even then he saw those and thought there was too much waste, behold in the 1990's he had a real introduction to the Monolithic Dome this was exactly what he had been looking for.  This led the whole family kids included to traveling to see the big name in monolithic domes, and the fascination grew in all of them.  DSC Tech. is now building Dome buildings, mostly in the mid Kansas area.

Huntersmoon Design is a the name of the small consulting business started By Deanna Henderson, the dome design functions of Huntersmoon focus on the pre-architect stage of the construction process, designing the dome how you want it and getting the details figured out before approvals are sought.
